Overview

The Job in a Nutshell:

The Construction Assistant Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day implementation and project management of new store construction, store expansions, store renovations, and any other department projects assigned.

Responsibilities

Main Ingredients:
  1. Review submittals
  2. Floor sink verification
  3. Review construction progress for schedule and quality
  4. Approve Operation and Maintenance Manuals
  5. Approve As-Built drawings
  6. Verify all close out documents
  7. Oversee goods received, purchased and services
    1. Issue and monitor purchase orders and deliveries for fixtures, furnishings, and equipment
  8. Contract third party inspections
  9. Participates in staff special projects
  10. Establish utility services accounts
  11. Acquire energy rebates
  12. Follow up on warranty items
  13. Electronically store drawings on V-Drive
  14. Manages special projects and meets required deadlines
  15. Travel to store locations as required

Qualifications

Recipe for Success:
  1. 2 years of experience in Commercial Construction Management required
  2. OSHA 30 certification required
  3. BA in Architecture, Construction Management or Civil Engineering a plus
  4. SAP experience a plus
  5. Field experience required Retail construction management/experience a plus
  6. Knowledge of Commercial Construction Knowledge of ADA requirements
  7. Knowledge of UBC, NEC, UPC, UMC, IFC
  8. Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel required
  9. Strong organizational skills and a strong track record for managing multiple projects and meeting required deadlines
  10. Ability to effectively work with little or no supervision
  11. Strong analytical/decision-making abilities
  12. Attention to detail
  13. Candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  14. Must possess exceptional leadership qualities

Environmental Requirements:
  • Must be able to frequently work with sharp tools and equipment, dust, fumes, and in a congested worksite.
  • Must be able to occasionally work with outside, cold, heat, wet/humid, contact stress, heights and chemicals.
