DUTIES: 1.Assist with set up, preparation and coverage for athletic events at all Point Park University facilities and other off-site locations. 2.Assist in the supervision of a large student worker group and table staff for home events. 3.Assist administrative staff with game-day operations. 4.Provide logistical and administrative support to head coaches. 5.Assist with writing news releases; designing, editing and maintaining Point Park University official website and social media channels. 6.Assist with game management, including in-game stat keeping, public address announcing and coordinating of live video stream of home contests. 7.Assist in taking, scheduling, posting, and disseminating necessary individual and team photos for promotional and website use. 8.Assist with preparing game-day programs as well as other athletics communication materials. 9.Communicate with the athletics staff and coaches as well as Point Park University Conference and Event Services on facilities & scheduling needs. 10.Demonstrate knowledge of compliance with the River States Conference and NAIA rules and regulations. 11.Candidate must be willing to assist in driving team shuttle buses to and from practices / games. 12.Candidate must be able to work extended and / or irregular hours including evenings and weekends, and be able to be on the field and court to record and report statistics, announce games, etc. 13.Candidate must be currently enrolled or accepted into a Point Park University graduate school program by Fall 2022 or Spring 2023.
REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate degrees in sport management, education, Journalism / communication, marketing or business. Candidates should have a career goal of working in athletics. Previous experience with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, DakStats, and Microsoft Office software is a plus.
To be considered for this assistantship, the candidate must already be accepted into one of Point Park University's master's degree programs in education, journalism and mass communication, communications technology, leadership education, psychology or business, and enrolled in nine credits per semester (fall and spring).
