Pre Vocational Job Coach

The Pre-Vocational Job Coach is responsible for collaborating with the Vocational team to provide pre-employment development, placement, and support services to all program participants either on community/volunteer job sites or in OSBI program sites in response to DDD and One Step Beyond Inc. specifications. The Pre-Vocational job Coach responsibilities include addressing the needs, interests, aptitudes, and ISP Goals and Objectives of all members participating in Pre-Vocational Programs, which includes daily/weekly/monthly curriculum delivery, assistance in development of community partners to provide pre-employment job training at pre-employment community/volunteer job sites and all other means to advance program goals achievement, responsiveness to members, and continuous improvement. The Pre-Vocational job Coach will be instrumental in teaching our participants appropriate employment skills and behavior and will closely support members as they progress and learn their jobs efficiently, safely and successfully.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Level 1 Finger Print Clearance Card.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disability or a similar population of vulnerable individuals.
  • Good driving record, must pass MVR inquiry

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction and implementation of pre-vocational curriculum to program participants in employment readiness skills, job search skills, successful workplace behaviors, employable job skills, and work-related functional literacy skills.
  • Consider safety and proactive supervision when supporting members by assisting and accompanying them on campus or community activities.
  • Provide transportation to and accompany participants to community volunteer and employment sites and all community-based activities, to observe performance, oversee work training, and provide instruction and assistance accordingly.
  • Document progress daily and report on program participant progress to Pre-vocational Supervisor
  • Model and demonstrate appropriate behavior management techniques (Article 9 training) with program members.
  • Consider the welfare, growth and development of program members as a top priority in all organizational and program decision making, planning, and development, and model and demonstrate appropriate behavior management techniques (Article 9 training) with program members.
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with members and parents/guardians to address concerns, maintain positive relationships, and serve as an advocate for members and a resource for parents/guardians.
  • Handle difficult situations with a positive attitude by actively seeking problem resolution, creative solutions, and program and organizational enhancements to ensure individual and team performance as well as program effectiveness.
  • Motivate Pre-Vocational participants to achieve effective collaborative interaction and mutual respect and encourage self-determination.
  • Continuously evaluate program effectiveness and assist Pre-Vocational supervisor to implement improvements and adjustments to program strategies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.40 per hour
