The Director of Planning is responsible for overseeing all aspect of Supply Chain Planning at Nutricia North America to include Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Supply Point and 3rd Parties Coordination, and Inventory Deployment. The Director of Planning also manages the Customs Broker relationship to ensure that all products are successfully cleared through FDA, USDA and US Customs. The Director of Planning leads the Sales and Operations Planning Process across the organization as well leading the local innovation management process for both new products introductions or renovations. The Director of Planning is responsible for developing, animating, continuously improving Supply Point Service Level Agreements as well as optimizing supply chain and value chain execution. In addition, the Director of Planning is responsible for ensuring that Supply Chain achieves operational performance targets on both top and bottom lines through excellent forecast accuracy, procurement efficiency, customer order fill, inventory level optimization, write off’s reduction and inbound transportation cost optimization.



The base compensation range for this position is $127,000-160,000 commensurate with experience. About you



Key Responsibilities:

The Director of Planning will oversee the day-to-day operational management of key areas of responsibility to include:



Sales & Operations Planning

Leading the company S&OP process a in co-partnership with the Sales, Marketing and Finance teams.

Delivering a rolling 18 months integrated demand and supply plan.

Monitoring, interpreting, and reporting on KPIs data.

Analyzing and outlining deviations from company sales targets as well as identifying root cause and implementing corrective action plan with the S&OP team.

Leading the S&OP cross functional team to help ensure that assumptions and scenarios are clearly defined before each Executive Monthly S&OP.

Leading the company Activity Management process for NPI and Renovations.

Lead quarterly planning process with the global specialized nutrition planning teams.



Demand Planning

Ensuring that demand plan review is updated weekly and shared with local and overseas sourcing points.

Ensuring alignment of the demand plan with the S&OP/monthly volume alignment outputs.

Challenging demand gap variations and developing a plan in collaboration with Sales, Marketing and Finance teams to mitigate those gaps. Making recommendations on actions to close those gaps during the top line S&OP monthly meeting.

Challenging input from market intelligence to the total forecast.

Performing SKU classification in demand segmentation.



Supply Planning

Ensuring service level is met from both local and overseas sourcing plans.

Managing visibility of forward replenishment and inventory plans.

Managing excess stock with sales and marketing teams to minimize write offs.

Monitoring capacity planning and lead actions to optimize stock levels across the supply chain.

Managing phasing-in and phasing-out of products of innovations and renovations.

Setting mid to long term strategy based on consumption trends.

Managing the notice, registration, scheduling and requests for the import of product portfolio.



Projects

Leading continuous improvement of the S&OP process across the organization

Minimize write off’s by optimizing inventory thru g supply chain improvement projects that will increase order fill to customers and optimize inventory valuation.

Leading analytic reporting for forecasting and inventory management.

Manage material master data for product innovation and renovations.



People Management

Managing, coaching and developing direct team as well as managing individual performance.

Developing team succession planning.



Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Thorough knowledge of forecast, demand, supply and deployment planning as well as supply chain principles and practices.

Proven track record in both developing and leading a Sales and Operations Planning Process.

Knowledge of process improvement, including Lean Processing or Six Sigma training and project management best practices.

Excellent knowledge of SAP Advances Planning & Optimization (APO) module

Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP SCM) and Warehouse Management System.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word and Power BI.

Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions.

Ability to demonstrate people management and positively influence the performance of others to achieve desired results through motivation, clear direction, active communication and coaching.

Leadership and influencing skills. Can positively cultivate and influence relationships with managers and employees through the company.

Ability to establish credibility quickly with both internal and external constituents and is perceived as a leader.

Superior communication skills – orally and in writing.

Effective organization and time management capabilities. An individual adept at managing multiple initiatives and able to set priorities, and efficiently perform responsibilities.

Supervisory responsibilities:

The Director of Planning has four direct reports: Associate Manager of Demand Planner, Two Supply Planner Associate Manager and Supply Chain Specialist.



Working conditions:

Work could be performed in an office environment or remote.



Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree a plus), preferably in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics or Operations Management.

10+ years of supply chain planning, forecasting, production scheduling, inventory deployment, supply chain network design and project management experience.

5+ years of people management experience

Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project,Word and Power BI.

Experience in dealing with FDA, USDA and Customs agency is a plus.
