John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center
Under direct supervision, performs entry level work in the preparation and/or service of food to patients, employees, or customers. Has little latitude to vary work methods and procedures. May substitute for host or hostess in seating diners and receiving payment of checks. Performs related work as required.
Examples of Work
- Assists cook in preparation of food.
- Washes and cleans dishes, pans, and equipment used in the preparation of food.
- Serves food to diners, tableside or cafeteria-style.
- Cleans the dining room thoroughly including floors, tables, etc.
- Assembles and delivers trays for patients in a hospital.
- Stocks shelves.
- Assists in inventories and maintenance of consumables and other items.
- Disposes of trash.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of food handling and preparation health rules.
- Knowledge of equipment used in the preparation and service of food.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
- Ability to follow written and oral instruction.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: No previous training is required.
Special Requirement: Applicant must furnish an approved food handler's certificate within seven days after appointment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $9.95 - $18.42 per hour
