Description:
The registered dietitian (RD) is responsible for the nutritional intervention of acute care hospitalized patients. The RD recommends appropriate medical nutrition therapy based on patient s diagnosis and nutritional status. Educates patients, family and significant others on nutritional guidelines to follow at home, as needed. Contributes to departmental achievements through process improvement. Documents nutritional interventions including plan of care in patients' charts following established procedures. Educator and resource person for area of nutrition specialization. Provides consultative and specialized advisement within area of expertise to physicians to optimize patient outcomes.
Estimated pay range for this position is $51099 - $66428.7/year depending on experience.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in related health accepted. Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Commission on Dietetic Registration and Florida State licensure (LD/N). Board Certified in area of nutrition related specialty. This position requires direct patient care through assessment, intervention and care planning. Years of experience must be obtained in a hospital clinical setting. The following proven skills are expected, include excellent verbal/written communication, critical thinking, basic computer, and service excellence. Three years of experience required.
