Movement gyms feature bouldering, top-roping and lead climbing, as well as amenities like yoga studios, functional fitness and cardio zones, childcare, and retail pro shops. Each facility caters to participants of all abilities – from competitive athletes to weekend adventurers and families. JOB SUMMARY


The Instructor for Youth & Gateway Programs is a passionate, motivated individual who loves to work with and teach youth, provides a great customer experience, and has a desire to grow in the climbing community. The position involves top rope belaying for children and sometimes adults, facilitating games and activities, and managing risks for participants during our various youth programs. The programs include After School programs, parties, and other programs as needed. Part-time instructors are primarily working with youth between the ages of 4-17 for 1-3 hours per class, depending on the program. Some programs will also include adult participants. Prior climbing experience is not expected or required – we are excited to train individuals who are excited to learn!


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provide a supervised and controlled environment during all our youth and other programs.

  • Communicate effectively with clients of all ages and abilities while demonstrating empathy and compassion.

  • Provide excellent customer service for all guests by seeking answers and solutions for customer questions.

  • Teach climbing skills from provided curriculums and create inclusive spaces that foster a sense of belonging.

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with co-workers and supervisors about feedback and concerns.

  • Speak open and honestly; asking for help when needed and look to learn from mistakes.

  • Develop skills to effectively communicate with others and listen to other perspectives to build partnerships.


JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • Have a passion for climbing, yoga, or fitness, or an interest in engaging with our community, and shows a growth mindset through a willingness to learn and a sense of curiosity.

  • Demonstrate an openness to learn from others and collaborate to achieve common goals.

  • Interest in working with both children and adults to support others having transformative, purpose-driven experiences.

  • Have a relentlessly positive and upbeat attitude to inspire others to live life intentionally and strive for personal bests.

  • Prior experience working with youth preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work 5-10 hours per week primarily on weekends and/or weekday afternoons.

  • Ability to work a complete After School Program. After School programs run for 4 or 6 consecutive weeks on the same day and time each week.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION


This is a part-time position.


Starting at $16.00/ hour with flexibility based on experience. 5 to 10 hours per week required. Minimum availability of 2 days per week.


We are specifically looking for open availability on Weekends from 9a-6pm. Availability from 3:30p-7pm on Monday & Thursday afternoons is a plus!

Top Rope Belaying Skills can be taught – no experience required!
