About the Role:


The San Francisco Giants are looking for an Affiliate Hitting Coach, where you will have the unique opportunity to develop the offensive skills of Giants’ hitters in Scottsdale, AZ during spring training, at your affiliate for a minor league championship season, and in various offseason camps and remote opportunities throughout the year. You will work closely with the entire Giants Player Development Department and lead players to exceed their potential by collaborating and learning from experts in various fields and applying their insights into actionable programming that will maximize offensive potentials. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to communicate with players and staff, teach current offensive training techniques, and create unique and challenging training environments that drive performance. They will also add value as a member of an inclusive culture where everyone is able to be the best version of themselves.

  • You will use available technology and staffing resources throughout the organization to evaluate, analyze and improve players that are currently with your affiliate.

  • You will work with analysts and sport scientists to provide performance monitoring and on field applications of the research and development process at your team.

  • You will develop short and long term skill development plans that match Giants values for players at your affiliate.

  • You will participate in offseason camps and development programs as needed.

  • You will maintain consistent contact throughout the offseason, create and monitor offseason training programs, and collaborate across departments to ensure our athletes are continuing to improve year-round.

Qualifications



  • Relevant high-level baseball experience as a player, coach, etc.

  • Passion and curiosity for biomechanics, baseball analytics and problem-solving.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Google Drive systems.

  • Ability to apply insights from data/analytics to a multi-faceted player development plan.

  • Great at driving and maintaining relationships with Giants personnel.

  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex ideas into simple messaging and the ability to author and deliver presentations in front of groups.

  • A keen sense of ownership, drive and willingness to get it done.

  • Ability and desire to work autonomously on a daily basis.
