Overview

THE ROLE:

The Sr. Manager, Product Marketing, Management & Innovation will lead all aspects of defined and specific categories of business with primary initial focus on strategic acquisitions, i.e. new Vegan Portfolio. Other strategic areas of oversight will include (and not be limited to) new acquisition targets assessment, as well as strategic innovation liaison on initiatives with global lead and mentorship proposed for muti-region adoption and execution. The Sr. Manager will co-create the product strategy for North America with the Director and Managers, Product Management and Sr. Managers/Managers, Product Innovation in implementing product strategy, driving product development, providing mentorship to cross-functional product teams, supervising related product portfolio optimization efforts, supporting the development of product marketing campaigns for existing portfolio and new products across all communication platforms and identifying ways to drive sales while supporting overall financial objectives for the North America region. Focus includes Vegan Portfolio, new acquisition targets, leading corporate-led new ideas and reformulations with innovative/groundbreaking science-backed ingredients (i.e., Formula 1 optimization), while exploring and applying sales data analysis, market research and consumer data.

This position is based in our Torrance, California offices and offers a hybrid schedule.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  • Be responsible for the development, commercialization and marketing efforts for the Vegan portfolio including activities related to the existing formulations, evaluation of new formulations and leading of Vegan DS task force.
  • Co-develop North America s product strategy with the Director, Product Management within defined categories for new product launches and specific product reformulations while offering expertise in industry, consumer and competitive trends.
  • Assess the current product line and identify portfolio gaps to align with the overall NAM product development strategy including portfolio optimization and out-of-the-box Innovation recommendations.
  • Collaborate on marketing programs and promotions, product communication and training and education across all available regional vehicles.
  • Grow future pipeline of attractive offerings, aligned with regional product and business strategy and supported by Distributor and Consumer research, while adhering to agreed-upon project and campaign/launch timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Distributor Leaders and Corporate teams to optimally support existing portfolio and commercialize new products (brand-new formats, turn-key, acquisitions) for long term success.
  • Interact at all levels throughout the organization with NAM departments and Corporate teams including Product, Global Product Innovation, Marketing/Creative Services, Sales, Legal, R&D, Tech Ops, Regulatory, Product Science, Scientific Affairs, Global Consumer Safety, Pricing, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Project Planning, Finance, Manufacturing, Operations and Member Services.
  • Participate in Distributor Committee meetings by offering major strategic Vegan product line updates and new market opportunities, product topics and future pipeline initiatives and lead meeting when Senior Director is unavailable. (S&P calls required, PT and TAB calls, as needed)
  • Identify unmet needs within the North America Product Marketing team and build programs and processes to fill those gaps.
  • Work closely with Sr. Director, Product Marketing & Innovation to build and implement team vision including leading partnership, cultivate safe environment through trust, teamwork and open communication, develop presentations (and present, as needed) for Distributor and Executive meetings and other tasks on behalf of Sr. Director, Product Marketing & Innovation.
  • Provide input on and participate in S&OP, Portfolio Review, bi-weekly NAM meeting, and WWPM/NAM PM Monthly Regional Update and support Product Managers, Product Innovation, as needed (Kick-off, Project Updates, GRA, Content Forum, Sensory Cuttings, LCD calls, etc.).

  • The team has a very collaborative mentality and is always prepared and ready to adjust, as changes can occur rapidly, due to manufacturing, supply chain and Distributor Leadership/Customer and business needs.
  • Works closely with every cross-functional team within Herbalife Nutrition to bring product ideas to the marketplace, which is an excellent opportunity to illustrate and develop Servant Leadership and team-building skills.
  • Due to the nature of Herbalife Nutrition s business, the team has a direct partnership and active communication with Distributor Leadership through multiple channels; including Distributor calls, HN Workplace engagement, Telegram and WhatsApp chats, as well as in-person events when possible.
  • The team is responsible for the product portfolio strategy from conceptualization to product launch and throughout the product lifespan, with teamwork and support from all cross-functional teams.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Track record of successful product portfolio management across multiple markets.
  • Solid new product development experience from concept to commercialization.
  • Product and category management background in the wellness/nutrition industry preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively with sensitivity to diversity.
  • 6-8 years product management, product development and marketing experience.
  • Proven track record to collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams without formal authority to ensure alignment on product and business goals.
  • Strong focus on Distributor and Customer needs and results orientation.

Education

  • Bachelor s degree in Marketing, Communications, Science, Nutrition or Business
