The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity available in Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Production Engineering team for a Tool and Fixture Specialist to support our operations in New Orleans, LA.

Position Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains equipment and demonstrates experience in these areas.
• Performs preventative maintenance plans.
• Performs complex troubleshooting, analysis, inspection, disassembly, rebuild, and modification of tooling as necessary using knowledge in areas such as mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Works with electrical systems and electronic components of complex industrial machinery and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications as required.
• Responds to and provides guidance related to routine and complex requests for equipment repair.
• Maintains and manages component and replacement part inventories.
• Follows safety procedures and regulations
• May provide guidance to less experienced employees.
• Works under Minimal supervision

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Candidates must be willing to work variable shifts

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
• A minimum of 1 year experience in maintaining design tools, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• 1 or more years of experience in the use of hand tools, and fabrication equipment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• High School Diploma/GED and typically 4 or more years' related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to perform maintenance or repair machinery.
• Experience in maintenance or repair of industrial equipment.
• Ability to maintain a periodic maintenance program in a production environment.
• Basic computer skills- including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications.

Typical Education/Experience:

High School Diploma/GED and typically 4 or more years’ related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
