Environmental Advisor

Job Description

A Local Authority based in Central London is currently recruiting for an Environmental Advisor to join their Sustainable Development Team as soon as possible.

This is a full time, temporary position with the ideal candidate holding an Environmental based Degree with have experience in Policy and report writing.

The purpose of the role is to be responsible to the Head of Sustainable Development for the provision of competent advice to all personnel in the Brigade, both operational and non-operational personnel, in response to requests and on a pro-active basis.

This includes developing environmental strategies, policies, procedures and standards.

In this role you will be supporting the Sustainable Development Team in managing and co-ordinating environmental compliance and improvement, Responsible Procurement activities and oversight of the Brigades ISO14001 EMS.

You will also be responsible for developing cross-departmental action plans and polices and facilitating their delivery.

We require a candidate with the experience of ISO 14001 certified EMS, Responsible Procurement and Sustainable Development Impacts, who possesses an degree in a relevant environmental subject.

It is essential that you can demonstrate a good knowledge of environmental legislation and best practice.

Good oral and written communications skills will also be essential in order to liaise with all levels of multi- disciplined staff and representatives from outside bodies.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £25 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
