Nutrition Manager


This is a Hybrid Position. It will be required to visit on-site at least once a week or as often as needed. The offices are located in beautiful Saint Petersburg, Florida.

General Purpose of Job

Represents the food and nutrition menu development team and manages nutrition team. Responsible for the quality and accuracy of the team's menus and work. Maintains SOPs related to nutrition. Develops or oversees hot and frozen menus. The nutrition manager serves as the primary RD for customers and as management support for all interactions with customer dietitians.

COMPLIANCE: Responsible for ensuring SunMeadow brand and hot catering meals are compliant with all applicable state and federal nutritional regulations.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: Supports product development process by working with PD team leader and team, providing essential counsel on the usability of meal components.

Essential Functions, including but not limited to:

� Plans, organizes, develops, and directs the menu development process

� Trains RD team on menu process

� Collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide timely menus to internal team and customers

� Analyzes customers' product specifications to establish efficient, cost-effective menus for ease of manufacture/reproducibility

� Interact with customers to provide menus that meet their nutritional needs and member preferences

� Collaborate with management to help solve quality issues

� Recruits, hires, provides orientation/training, and retains qualified staff per assigned Budget to carry out the responsibilities of the Food and Nutrition Department

� Works with the Culinary team to develop new meals and recipes

Responsibilities for assigned customers and projects:

� Menu Development/ Cost Control

� Annual Monitors and Audits

� Creating menus for new customer bids

� Menu Planning Meetings

� Menu Substitutions

� Upload of Menu Planning into NAV

� Product Nutrition Development

� Sales/ Account Management Support

Qualifications:

� BS in Nutrition and Dietetics. Must be a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist through CDR and Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in FL. Licensure in other states is preferred.

� At least 3 years of menu planning experience required

� At least 2 years of supervisory experience with RDs

� Should have training in cost control, food management, and diet therapy and basic computer skills

� Experience with hot and frozen meals a plus

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

� Amount of Time - 1/3 to 2/3 of Time: Sit, use hands to finger/handle/feel, stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl, stand, walk, talk, hear, taste, smell, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, and lift/exert up to 50 lbs.; Over 2/3 of time: See

� Amount of Time - Under 1/3: Wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather); loud noise (Production).

� Start and end times can vary according to the needs of the department.
