The College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Advising Office (The College) is seeking a Senior Student Services Coordinator. The position provides administrative support for specifically assigned Deans who provide academic support to undergraduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences. Job responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to the Association Deans housed within The College.
  • Assist students and external customers via phone, email, and in person by answering questions or directing them on how to best get their questions answered.
  • Work with staff/faculty from across Arts & Sciences to provide information and answer questions about College policies and procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support of various programs housed within The College.
  • Process academic forms submitted by Arts & Sciences students.
  • Assist with enrollment of incoming Arts & Sciences students during Summer Enrollment.
  • Work collegially with the deans and staff within The College to improve student processes and procedures, make recommendations, and implement changes.
  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Programs and the Business Administrator.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma
  • Four years of student related administrative support experience. Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience..

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior experience in higher education.
  • Working knowledge of UVA's SIS (Student Information System).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and to work independently.
  • Ability to interact with executive level administrators, faculty, students, and parents, with an understanding of protocol and confidentiality.
  • Working knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
