Job Summary:

The Director of Supply Chain reports to the COO and will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, manage the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems, and build processes that guarantee the efficient movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and of finished goods from point of origin to point of consumption.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, manage, and grow all aspects of a Supply Chain consisting of Sourcing, Demand and Supply Planning, Procurement, Contract Manufacturing communication, Distribution, and Logistics teams that will deliver in a fast-paced growing environment.

  • Define and implement comprehensive strategies for all aspects of the company’s supply chain to reduce costs, mitigate risk, improve quality, shorten lead times and reduce inventories.

  • Provide exceptional leadership to Supply Chain teams.

  • Create structure, hire/train staff, develop personnel, give direction, integrate/leverage global capabilities, and hold team members accountable.

  • Oversee demand forecasting, supply planning, and procurement to ensure resource requirements are satisfied.

  • Collaborate with the Sales, Sales Operations, Shipping, and Receiving departments to establish policies and procedures that ensure orders contain all pertinent information required for accurate vendor orders and deliveries.

  • Ensure a high level of collaboration and customer service is provided to internal customers.

  • On-going management of supplier relationships, cost negotiations and management, terms and conditions, and all other logistical requirements.

  • Ensure that supply chain costs, inventory, and delivery performance targets are met.

  • Resolve issues with vendors, purchase orders, and receipts.

  • Provide strategic consulting and analytic perspective to executive management on strategies, opportunities, and risks.

  • Team with Procurement, QA, and R&D, to seek out and evaluate new manufacturing capabilities consistent with early-stage product development.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Business/Administration, Engineering, MBA, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in contract manufacturing, logistics, supply and demand planning, procurement, and hands-on leadership roles in a GMP environment are a must.

  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to envision the future state of the business and synthesize facts and insights into concrete, actionable, strategies and plans.

  • Ability to build and develop teams set high standards, and lead others to action.

  • Strong problem-solving skills; with the ability to be a decision maker as well as a contributor.

  • Self-directed with a demonstrated sense of accountability.

  • Versed in Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and other regulatory requirements.
