Position Focus:
The Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing will develop inclusive, strategic marketing and promotion plans, managing in-game elements, producing innovative revenue generation strategies, and creatively enhancing the Yale Athletics fan experience.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Develop an intentional engagement strategy to build community and enhance fan attendance and experience. Assist with the development and implementation of Yales Athletics digital presence through marketing initiatives and analytics through social media and creative marketing techniques. Responsible for creative game day planning and operations at select sporting events to increase fan attendance. Oversee mascot and cheer team hiring, training and game day scheduling. Assist with creating videos, graphics, and content to promote events and student-athletes in conjunction with the Yale Athletics branding strategy. Assist with hiring, training, management, and evaluation of marketing coordinators and interns. Collaborate with the ticket office to develop sales campaigns and plans for ticketed sports. Create and execute in-game elements including PA scripts, playlists, timing sheets, in-game promotions, videoboard production for select sports.

Create inclusive campaigns and events that connect Yale Athletics with local community and increase attendance. Manage marketing and promotions budgets for select events. Develop and oversee Yale Athletics kids club. Produce and execute creative concepts for marketing campaigns in accordance with strategic plan, including printed, digital and video elements.

Ensures positive relationships between the Athletics department and key stakeholders, to include alumni, local community, fans, parents, faculty and other University constituents. Perform other duties as assigned. Support the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Community Engagement and DEI.

Essential Duties:
1. Create a comprehensive strategic plan for marketing a unit or department to generate interest and awareness in the target audience and to increase revenue.2. Develop and execute social media plan; produce and manage website content.3. Generate and manage distribution of press releases and handle media inquiries to coordinate press coverage.4. Manage work of public relations agencies, marketing vendors and consultants.5. Create briefs and content for promotional and fundraising mailings.6. Increase community awareness and participation through event coordination and marketing.7. May submit sponsor grant requests as necessary.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in a related field and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Direct knowledge of NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Prior marketing and game operations experience in college or professional athletics preferred. Experience with branding, promotions, marketing initiatives and content creation preferred. Data analytics experience preferred. Ability to deliver creative content through video and graphics preferred.
