We have an immediate opening for a full-time (40 hours/week) Residential Support Specialist in an Assisted Living Facility serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in Fairfax, VA.

The hours are Sunday - Thursday evenings 4pm - 12am.

Gain valuable experience with Pathway Homes’ proven recovery-based model for addressing severe and persistent mental illness. Work within a supportive environment meeting regularly with your supervisor and teammates.

The RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST:

• Provides direct supervision and assists individuals in learning independent living skills

• Assists with developing, implementing, and monitoring residents’ individual service plans
• Promotes and supports each individual’s recovery to include psychiatric stability, increased skills, sobriety, securing more independent housing, and meaningful community engagement

• Collaborates with other staff members to ensure residents’ needs are met

• Monitors and reports any maintenance, health, fire, and safety issues

• Learns to document residents’ behavior and progress in the clinical record in accordance with DBHDS, DSS, DMAS, CARF, and Pathway Homes’ standards

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field. Intern or professional experience working with individuals with disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications: Current VA Board of Nursing Medication Aide Certification. Qualified Mental Health Professional.
