The position must execute within the framework of a best-in-class Football program at Johns Hopkins University. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for all teaching/development/individual work for position group (QB or OL). Offensive Coordinator will do all film breakdowns to get tendencies from opponent and make scouting report weekly for opponent. Game plan (put together call sheet) for Gameday. Run meetings daily for all skill position players. Recruit specific areas of the country (TX/FL/New England): Develop and implement a recruiting schedule and recruiting budget for the areas assigned by Recruiting Coordinator In-Season: Submit Daily Contact Sheet Post Season Recruiting: Submit a Travel Itinerary including number of weeks "on the road" (mid November until Holidays), schools and recruits to be visited, and hotel and rental car needs Present travel recruiting budget to Head Football Coach, receipt all expenses, and provide a short write up on every recruit met Winter Recruiting Be present and invite prospective students to Recruiting Weekends Work all Recruiting Weekends: Last 2 weekends in January, 1st 3 weekends in February Before visits, submit to Head Coach, Recruiting Contact Sheet and Unofficial Transcripts on all visiting prospects If prospects are arriving by train or plane you must know their methods of transportation to campus. Official Visits must be presented to Head Coach for approval. Order and Purchase all Staff gear within budget constraints set by Head Coach. Film Exchange: Oversee all Weekday and Weekend Film Exchanges with our competitors. Assign weekend film exchange duties to Assistant Coaches as well as any Bus or Airport pick-ups. Oversee all communication gear for Game Day: Wireless Headsets for Hopkins Football both Home and Away. Opponents wired headsets during Home JHU games. Report to Head Coach and Games Operations if changes/repairs need to be made. Liaison with Equipment Room Personnel. All other duties assigned by Head Coach. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a Bachelor's degree Prior experience coordinating an offense and recruiting at a high academic institution preferred Must have the ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday work which is required. Travel is also required. A valid drivers' license and ability to drive a vehicle is required. All candidates should be able to lift and move medical equipment and supplies weighing up to 75-100 pounds. KEY RELATIONSHIPS: The Assistant Football Coach is directly supervised by the Head Football Coach. This position has significant interactions with faculty and staff, students, alumni, and other outside constituencies. PHYSICAL EFFORT/ENVIRONMENT: General office, athletic facility, and campus environment. The position will require work outside and in inclement weather. Position involves sitting, although frequent movement is necessary. Walking, standing, bending, twisting, and occasional lifting is required. Computer usage involving repetitive and/wrist motion is required. The position will be a full-time, fiscal year appointment, with frequent evening and weekend work required throughout the year with those dates determined by a supervisor. WORKING CONDITIONS/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Operates on turf, grass, gymnasium, and training rooms. General open office and campus environment. Position involves sitting, movement, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds in coaching and training situations. Frequent travel and early morning/evening/weekend work is required.
