This outstanding Southern California Health System is actively interviewing for a Registered Dietician (RD) Nutrition Director to oversee its Inpatient food service operations. Join an incredible non-profit healthcare system, and play a huge part in supporting patient health and recovery.

The Nutrition Director will join a trusted and award-winning Health System, and will play a crucial role in supporting patient health and recovery. This system provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient services in its hospitals and many primary care / specialty care clinics, including Cardiac Services, Women's & Maternal Health, Oncology / Cancer Care, and Rehabilitation. In addition to Inpatient Food Service, this Registered Dietician Director will also lead operations at the many retail and cafeteria locations around this Orange County facility.

The RD Nutrition Director will report to the Vice President of Support Operations, and will collaborate with leadership throughout the medical center to provide safe, healthy, and attractive meals. Supporting you in this challenging and rewarding role is a CDE Registered Dietician Manager and Educators. Also reporting to you are operational leaders like a Food Production Supervisor, a Cafeteria and Vending Supervisor, and a Patient Services Supervisor, as well as a team of clinical dieticians who work directly with patients and providers to develop menus.

The Nutrition Services Department serves a complex role in any Health Care organization, serving healthy and tasty food to hundreds of people around the clock. The RD Nutrition Director will provide strategic-level leadership, as well as operational oversight for this Acute Care Hospital and its satellites. Operating a full range of food services that include a bustling cafeteria, patient room-service, catering executive meals, and even vending, a successful Director will be experienced with both the clinical and operational challenges of such a complex service line. 

The Registered Dietician Director of Nutrition Services will serve in a senior leadership role within the Medical Center, and a visible role across the Health System. Operationally, you'll oversee departmental budgets at the facility-level, you'll drive quality improvement processes, and you'll be a keen observer of federal, state, local, and organizational regulations around food operations. For these reasons, it is required that this person be a Registered Dietician and have certification as a Food Service Manager. This leader may have the opportunity to negotiate better supply contracts, explore innovative delivery techniques, and work closely with labor / union leaders.

Collaborating with leaders from many patient-facing parts of the organization, the Registered Dietician / Nutrition Director will serve as an advocate for patient health and recovery through proper nutrition. You'll work with physician, nurse leadership, ancillary leaders, and support personnel to insure that all staff and patient food needs are met. The Director will also serve as a mentor and source of expertise on clinical menu programming, staffing, and strategy for the many department locations.
