Athletics Operations GA

The Murray State University Athletics Department (MSUAD) is currently seeking qualified candidates for graduate assistant positions within the Operations (Facilities and Event Management) unit. This position will assist full time staff members in the coordination and operation of 15 varsity sports, special events, and external events. This is a two year position, reviewable/renewable at the conclusion of year one. Specific responsibilities/duties are included but not limited to: Game day roles in operations for Football/Basketball as assigned Specific Olympic sport and facility responsibilities will be assigned by Assistant AD - Operations Coordinator for external facility rentals as assigned Assists in the day-to-day operations and setup/strike of assigned sports and events Hiring, staffing, and supervision of part-time event staff for assigned sports and events Creation/maintenance of visiting team guides and various operations manuals for assigned regular season and post-season events Scheduling, setup/strike for assigned facility space(s). Physical labor and lifting required at times Upkeep and maintenance of assigned inventory, supplies, materials, and equipment Opportunity to gain experience with hosting MVC championships, NCAA Championships, and other special events. Accountable to assisting with preventative maintenance, cleanliness, and ensuring assigned facilities are 24/7 recruit ready Assists Operations staff with Transportation Fleet scheduling, maintenance, and trip preparations General Office Duties Other duties as assigned

Required Education

Bachelor s Degree from an accredited institution in Sports Management or related field.

Position must maintain required graduate course-load and remain in good academic standing. Must be willing to work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays in addition to weekly office hours scheduled around University classes.
