Demand Planning Analyst

The Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for the analysis, creation, and maintenance of accurate unit forecasts and valuations. The completed forecasts are the basis of company production and purchasing decisions. In addition, the analyst will work with Operations partners to ensure meeting service level goals for the Commercial Organization.

THE ROLE

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Prepare and review monthly saleable forecasts with related analysis. The accuracy of the unit forecast has a direct impact on company inventory and customer service levels. Reconcile forecasted units to Gross Sales financial forecasts to ensure reasonableness.
  • Analyze competitive data and POS sales data (IRI Rankings, product mix, retail pricing, top selling promotions) to utilize as a tool in unit and gross sales forecasting.
  • Work with NPD and Marketing groups to determine timelines for the collection of promotional and new brand (or new sku) forecasts.
  • Compile and coordinate seasonal programs, specifically saleable gift items. The completed forecasts are used for production and shipments to specific Business Units.
  • Coordinate monthly Forecast Consensus Pre-SOP meeting with Marketing, Planning, and Sales for review of gross sales and unit forecast at brand and Sku level. Present analysis of forecast models.
  • Using SAP, BI, MFR, Futurecast, and JDA Demand systems, generate reports that support S&OP processes in US.
  • Gather qualitative information from Sales and Marketing as it affects future unit forecasted demand, including follow-up of out of stocks with Planning and Operations.
  • Active participation in weekly Low Inventory Review meetings with Planning.
  • Prepare strategic and ad hoc analysis. This analysis can be brand specific or overall strategic in nature.
  • Work effectively as good team member.
  • Encourage others to support the organization.
  • Demonstrate leadership in engaging and working with internal and external resources

QUALIFICATIONS

We'd love to see candidates who have:

Essential:

  • 4-year Undergraduate Degree, (prior experience or MBA is a plus)
  • Professional Certification is a not required but preferred.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Dynamics
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experienced with JDA Demand (Manugistics) or comparable Demand Planning software
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Familiar with SAP, BI and MFR and CAS reporting systems
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to work in a group or independently, self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills

Base Salary Range: $61,000 - 73,000
