Position Purpose:

The Financial Modeler and Analyst provides clarity and enables solid business decisions through financial insight and metrics-based analysis. This position is also responsible for building financial models, forecasts, metrics analysis, reports, and tracking systems, and reporting and clearly communicating conclusions regarding process improvements, profit and/or cost saving opportunities, and investment opportunities.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed financial and analytical models to be used for scenario modeling

  • Work with business segments to obtain financial data and explain business drivers

  • Analyze and explain segment results, including actuals vs forecast

  • Maintain supporting documents for controls and audit testing

  • Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses on new initiatives and investment opportunities

  • Learn to use existing finance tools and help build new ones by defining what information needs to be seen

  • Help automate, improve, and scale reporting and business metrics

  • Analyze market and internal metrics to identify trends and highlight opportunities to drive business performance across departments

  • Support the preparation of presentations to senior management including the Board of Directors

  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual projections for multiple business units

  • Serve as support and backup for the finance department for month-end close and reporting

  • Assist with the annual audit

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • 2-4 years experience in financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting

  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP financial accounting and reporting concepts

  • Advanced technical ability in Excel required. Access experience a plus.

  • Strong emphasis on quality control of large data sets, accuracy of data, and timeliness of deliverables

  • Ability to collect, monitor, record, analyze, and report on key data to support and drive business decisions

  • Ability to take on raw data, identify patterns, and trends to accurately predict/project future results

  • Ability to work independently and manage own workload to meet the goals of the finance department

  • Ability to work with information that is highly confidential
