Job Posting Description
The Training Specialist is a key member of the Trust Staff Development & Engagement team, which is responsible for organizing a suite of high-quality and engaging programs for the fundraising team of Boston Children's Hospital. This role will identify, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs using a variety of modalities to increase staff knowledge and skills across a range of subjects. The Training Specialist will train Trust staff to more fully utilize technology in all aspects of work across the organization, and encourage an open and positive attitude toward the adoption of technology platforms, processes and solutions.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule with an on-site requirement of six days per month.

This Training Specialist will:
Work with subject matter experts and the Technology & Support Services team to develop and evaluate training and training materials for new technology rollouts and upgrades to existing technology tools, especially in support of hybrid work best practices.
Modify existing instructor-led training to better utilize digital learning tools such as asynchronous learning and eLearning, and develop new digital- first training resources.
Perform training needs analyses; Design and develop e-learning courses.
Develop, improve, and standardize new hire training modules, particularly technology training.
Train subject matter experts to lead engaging and interactive live trainings.
Develop metrics around technology adoption, knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
Identify or develop appropriate tools for skills assessment.
Present training via eLearning, virtual classroom/webinar, and/or in-person.
To qualify, you must have:
BA Degree plus at least four years’ experience in training and development, delivery or facilitation. Additional experience may substitute for the education requirement.
Understanding of a fundraising operation is preferred.
Familiarity with the complete process of training development, including instructional theory, analysis, design, development, iteration, implementation, and evaluation is required.
Highly effective interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to interact positively with others having a broad range of expertise and seniority, and to elicit cooperation without direct authority.
Ability to develop synchronous and asynchronous training modalities such as eLearning, micro-learning, and instructor-led training.
Experience providing “train the trainer” assistance to help subject matter expert staff lead their own trainings.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining momentum, prioritizing, and managing to project due dates.
Ability to post, organize, and track eLearning modules on a learning management system.
Proficiency in data analytics to track and report on user participation, create evaluation materials, and metrics around technology adoption, knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
Proficiency in MS Office and Office 365; Learning Management System (LMS); Articulate, Captivate, or comparable tools.
