Are you passionate about helping your patients look and feel better? We are opening a new clinic in Reading, PA that focuses on brining functional medicine and anti-aging therapies to our community. Our clinic will be the first to offer a robust menu of services and medical care to help patient combat the signs and changes in their body as a result of aging. Our clinic will offer hormone therapy, treatments for sexual wellness and health, hair restoration, wellness infusions to help balance the brain, body and bones, vitamin therapy and NAD along with a full menu of cosmetic treatments to help correct fine lines and wrinkles and better the skin health. Our provider brings over 17 years of experience to this field and has exceptional education, training and specialized certifications in the field of family medicine, dermatology and functional health that make her a leader in anti-aging in the state.

Job Description

We are seeking a full time (30-40 hours per week) Medical Assistant to work in our new upscale Reading, PA clinic. This person must be flexible, positive and friendly and highly organized. We require a team player who has an excellent attendance record, is innovative in problem solving and has a can do attitude. This job requires a lot of multitasking, so we need someone who can learn quickly and adapt to changing workloads.

The MA will work directly with our Nurse Practitioner and Collaborative provider to ensure excellent patient care and assistance with a variety of treatments to our patients. . Workdays usually begins at 8:00-9:00 AM, and can end at 3:30 or 5:00 PM depending on the day of the week.

It is the responsibility of the MA to be engaged in patient care and adaptable to changes in the facility protocol or physician needs. The MA provides administrative, clerical, and clinical duties such as:

  • Proper intake of patient including medical history and identification of chief complaint
  • Accompany provider in room during patient exams and accurately transcribe all medical notes
  • Preparing patients and materials needed for all procedures
  • Assist in medical procedures including but not limited to administering local anesthetic, monitoring patients during their IV treatments, follow up with patients and other duties assigned by the provider.
  • Responding immediately or up to 2 hours to messages sent by patients assigned to you, your team and/or your provider
  • Ensure that patient charts and medical records are completely up to date in accordance with regulatory and compliance policies
  • At the completion of each appointment, schedule patients for follow up appointments
  • Completion of start and end of day tasks to ensure office is prepared for daily clinic including preparing surgery trays, stocking rooms with medical supplies and handouts, cleaning rooms and other duties assigned by provider
  • Thoroughly sanitizing rooms after each patient visit
  • Deliver patient education and documentation on disease, wound care, pathology reports and diagnosis, and medication/side effects
  • Sending medications to appropriate pharmacy prescribed by provider
  • Accurately filling out prior authorization request forms and updating with results when finalized
  • Complete all required training by due date as assigned
  • Complete all duties in accordance with HIPAA and other medical regulations
  • Submitting inventory orders as needed to maintain clinic inventory.
  • Setting up for procedures using sterile technique
  • Sterilizing instruments
  • Scribing/Composing SOAP notes on patient visits, note preparation
  • Scheduling appointments and greeting visitors
  • Bringing patients to the exam or procedure rooms, and preparing them for the office visit
  • Photographing patients for medical records
  • Removing bandages, dressings or sutures
  • Performing simple wound care and dressing changes
  • Transmitting prescriptions
  • Updating and maintaining patient records

Job Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program, and minimum two year’s experience as a Medical Assistant required.
  • Must know sterile technique.
  • Must have strong keyboarding skills as note taking/scribing is a significant part of the job.
  • Medical terminology.
  • Photographic skills are a strong plus.
  • Experience working in a cosmetic setting such as a plastic surgery office, medical spa or Dermatology office is a plus!
  • Willingness to do an assortment of tasks with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
  • Must be friendly and competent with a professional appearance. No visible tattoos or piercings except for earrings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000-$43,000 per year plus Bonus Opportunities
