General PurposeResponsible for providing assistance with the organization of various sports leagues, which include, but not limited to the Youth Basketball League, Youth Flag Football League and Doral Broncos Tackle Football & Cheer Program.Supervision Received and ExercisedThis position is classified as non-exempt, part time, flexible hours.This position is classified as a non-exempt, part-time position, with a schedule of less then 29 hours per week.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
Assists in the preparation of league scheduling and databases.
Assists in organizing and ordering equipment, awards and uniforms needed for league seasons and tournaments.
Assists in the organization and planning of league events (i.e.
award picnics, orientations, clinics, etc.).
Supports operations by handling telephone inquiries, responding to emails, and providing information to the public.
Assists with league volunteers during league practices, games, events, etc.
Assists in organizing a wide variety of recreational activities.
Enforces safety and other park rules and regulations; administers first aid as required.
Performs general maintenance and clean up duties at the park which include, but not limited to, the emptying of trash receptacles, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, wiping down tables, chairs and other furnishings, replenishing toilet paper and hand towels, and cleaning concession area, restrooms and fields.
Performs other duties as required and assigned by the Athletics Coordinator, Park Manager andAssistant Park Manager.Additional Duties:
Performs other related work as required.Minimum QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING
A High School Diploma or a GED equivalent.
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with acceptable driving record.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS REQUIREDKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to establish good customer relations.
Must have an ability to deal with people effectively, courteously and enthusiastically.
Ability to understand and follow simple, oral and written instructions.
Ability to accept, receive and/or collect payments.
Ability to pay invoices.
Ability to be held accountable for inventory/property management.
Ability to use small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
Ability to use computers for data entry.
Ability to use computers for word processing and/or accounting purposes.
Ability to use or repair medium equipment and machinery, such as vehicles or commercial mowers.
Must have some experience participating in or overseeing sports leagues.
Knowledge of basic rules of safety and ability to enforce applicable rules and regulations.
Must be able to work independently and complete daily activities and tasks according to work schedule.
Must be fluent in the English language.
Spanish is a plus.
Applicants must complete all requirements established by the City of Doral for employment.
This may include, but is not limited to, a written examination, a psychological exam, a polygraph examination, a comprehensive background investigation and a job-related medical examination including a drug/alcohol screening test.
Must be a non-smoker.
Theminimum requirements may be waived by the CityManager.Physical Requirements:
Ability to grasp, finger, handle, lift; express ideas through speaking accurately or quickly; and stand for sustained periods of time.
Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
