Leprino Foods is seeking an Associate Director, Nutrition R&D to lead the operational strategy and work activities for the Research and Development functions for their areas of responsibility. This new role will support our largest customers and lead large, strategic projects for the company.

At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $153,000 and $190,000. This position has an annual target bonus of 15%.

  • Use a robust StageGate project management process to ensure the successful identification, screening, development, and commercialization opportunities for the organization.
  • Research and identify new technologies needed to support our businesses of the future, and actively partner with external resources and suppliers to realize those opportunities.
  • Act as an active partner with internal and external customers in their innovation processes.
  • Ensure a smooth hand-off during commercialization and provide ongoing technical support as needed to enhance process capability and eliminate waste.
  • Lead a team of three, to ensure the completion of strategic projects and departmental outputs in an efficient, effective, and timely basis, factoring in fluctuating workloads and changing priorities.
  • Provide technical guidance, expertise, and leadership to projects within functional scope.
  • Investigate audit results and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop formal standard operating procedures to use for training materials to train staff and plant personnel whenever new technologies, processes, or formulations are developed
  • Improve the Company ROIC by implementing plans to increase efficiency, asset utilization, waste reduction, and margins
  • Use statistical methods, data analysis, and reporting tools to assist the manufacturing plants in tightening standard deviations of critical process controls.


You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):

  • A Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food science, Dairy science or another related field.
  • Twelve (12) years of food manufacturing, research, product development or quality assurance experience in the food segment.
  • Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience.
  • The ability to travel up to 30%.
