 The Dietetic Assistant is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the computer card file for each patient which can include: diet order, tube feeding order, allergies, supplements, nourishments and food preferences

Responsibilities:

·        Accurately processes Patient's Room Service Orders according to established procedures.

·        Efficiently processes Room Service orders in an effort to maintain a minimum of three calls in queue.

·        Informs patients or nursing if questions arise about patient meals.

·        Prints enteral feeding list and distributes to Food Service Supervisor.

·        Daily reports are maintained neatly and accurately.

·        Floor census reports are provided to Tray Line Supervisor prior to meal shifts.

·        Appropriately checks CBORD computer system to ensure patients have appropriate diet orders.

·        Coordinates any Room Service meal concerns with appropriate kitchen staff members.

·        Demonstrates strong communication skills.

·        Shows care and concern for patients or family when communicating in person or via the phone.

·        Demonstrates appropriate inter-departmental communication skills when dealing with other departments.

·        Communicates with Food Service Supervisors, Management & dietitians any issues or concerns that arise.

·        Is proactive in handling complaints or concerns.

·        Demonstrates a courteous and respectful manner when communicating with Patient's and/or Family members at all times.

 

Requirements:

·        Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

·        1-2 years of food and nutrition services experience
