Maintains, services and repairs turf equipment including but not limited to: power mowers, reel mowers, blowers, vacuums, edgers, spray equipment, paint machines, etc. Daily adjusts reel mower blades for performance of cut.
Service and performs preventative maintenance and repairs on: utility vehicles, golf carts, tractors, trucks, forklifts, etc.
Repairs and replaces engines, transmissions, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps and fuel injection systems. Test drives and drives Department owned vehicles as required.
Assist Turf Management crew with maintenance of athletic fields including, but not limited to: mowing, blowing, painting, edging and landscaping.
Performs welding on engines, frames and bodies of vehicles and equipment. May order parts and provide temporary repairs as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor or higher authority. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency and two years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years. Technical or vocational degree in appropriate mechanical trade area may substitute for experience.Ability to perform minor repairs of engines and small equipment.Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Ability to work a flexible scheduled to include some evening and weekend hours if needed.Proof of a valid Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.University Information
