ABOUT THE POSITION:

This position is primarily focused on student recruitment, admissions, registration, records, financial aid, academic advising, career services, academic support services and community relations. The work is generally governed by broad instructions and objectives involving frequently changing conditions.





ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:



  • Assists students with the Admission, Registration, and Records functions which include but are not limited to:

  • Assists with the admission, registration, re-admission process.

  • Verifies documents establishing Florida Residency for tuition purposes.

  • Reviews and interprets transcripts for admission purposes.

  • Overseeing registration including drops and withdrawals.

  • Processing transcript and enrollment verification requests.

  • Collecting graduation applications.

  • Processing non-credit applications and registration.

  • Assist students with Financial Aid functions which include but are not limited to:
    • Disseminating Financial Aid information regarding grants, loans, veteran benefits and various scholarships.

    • Assisting students with online FASFA.

    • Collecting financial aid data and relevant documents for supervising campus.

    • Work with supervising campus to schedule Financial Aid Workshops and Information Sessions

  • Assist students with Advising functions which include but are not limited to:
    • Advising students about admissions, career exploration, transfer requirements, registration, academic programs, and course selection.

    • Advising students regarding CLAST requirements.

    • Establishing and maintaining effective communication with other members of the academic advising staff of the supervising campus.

    • Review and interprets transcripts for registration purposes.

    • Interpreting and utilizing standardized test scores and result in the advising process.

  • Prepares notifications and information to students about services, scheduled events, registration periods and other student services activities.

  • Disseminates admission, registration, and financial aid documents and other student services information.

  • Answers all incoming calls and serves as campus reception and general information center.




This position is a level P12. To determine starting salary, Polk State College takes into consideration the pay level minimum, the candidate's qualifications and internal equity factors.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:



Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.



Required Experience



Two years of experience in Student Services is required.



Preferred Experience:



Student Services experience in admissions, advising, financial aid, or registration is preferred.



Bilingual preferred.
