Job Title: Risk Management/Loss Control Specialist

Reports to: Managers, Risk Management

Classification: Exempt

Location: Evanston, IL

(Currently all Rotary WHQ employees are working remotely but will return to office on a hybrid model - must be willing to relocate to or currently live in Chicagoland area.)

Overview

This position supports the Risk Management team, responsible for managing business continuity program, and supporting loss control and enterprise risk management activities at Rotary International. You will be part of Risk Management team that includes risk management, insurance, and claims professionals. You will have the opportunity to work in a worldwide nonprofit organization, interact and coach all departments regarding risk and your contribution will help ensure the organization understands and considers its insurable and non-insurable risks as it works to achieve its strategic goals.

You Will Have

  • Bachelor degree. Preferably in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Risk Management or related fields

  • 2-5 years of experience in loss control, business continuity management, crisis/incident management

  • Experience in corporate Risk Management / Loss Control / Safety & Security / Enterprise Risk Management

  • Knowledge of commercial business insurance (especially general liability and auto liability)

  • Experience & proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)

You Will Be Responsible For

Business Continuity

  • Ensure that Business Continuity program components (business impact analysis, risk assessments, plans) are updated and kept current, effective and address business requirements.

  • Develop business continuity training materials to ensure BC coordinators and teams understand their responsibilities and are trained and proficient in implementing the business continuity plans.

  • Manage and troubleshoot issues relating to the business continuity software tool.

Loss Control

  • Develop and communicate loss control & loss prevention strategies and guidelines for the U.S. Club Liability Program.

  • Develop and communicate loss control & loss prevention strategies and guidelines for Rotary International, including its annual international meetings.

  • Work with other departments in developing such measures and guidelines.

  • Identify and evaluate potential risks and recommend solutions for reducing risk.

Enterprise Risk Management

  • Assist Risk Manager with enterprise risk management program activities, including documenting organizational key risks.

  • Assist in developing and managing ERM program documents and reports. Develop ways to increase awareness of ERM among staff.

Other

  • Provide risk management guidance on matters pertaining to risk management inquiries.

  • Assist in claims analysis to determine possible risk factors and corrective actions. Recommend corrective action to eliminate the hazardous conditions or act that was responsible for accidents, injuries, and/or claims

  • Undertake special projects relating to various risk management issues, as assigned.
