FULL_TIME
Responsible for providing nutrition education and counseling to GFC patients. The Registered Dietitian will assess, plan, document, and evaluate the plan of care in accordance with the nutrition care process and department guidelines. Sees patients individually and/or in a group setting. Receives direction from: Diabetes Program Manager; Clinic DON, Hospital DON. Gives direction to: Reception staff, Hospital Dietary Staff. Works cooperatively with: Primary Care, Specialty Care Departments, Hospitalists, Dietary Manager, Clinical Managers.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor degree in Food and Nutrition/Dietetics.
- Completion of one-year internship or coordinated undergraduate dietetic program equivalent, approved by the American Dietetic Association.
EXPERIENCE:
Presentation skills and experience preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Registered or Registered-Eligible with the American Dietetic Association Licensed or eligible for a Montana license.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles of nutrition planning.
- Working knowledge of special nutrition requirements and unique needs of specific patient populations such as diabetes.
- Maintenance of clinical competency as required by professional regulations and updated patient care.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with patients, co-workers, providers, and other clinic staff.
- Nutrition assessment and counseling skills including evaluation and documentation.
- Basic computer skills.
- Organization skills.
