INTERNSHIP - Animal Wellness Division
The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens (JZG) invites applicants for an internship in the Zoo's busy wellness division. This internship will offer the opportunity to gain experience in behavioral observation of animals housed at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens and develop skills to track animal well-being.
Responsibilities can include:
Interns will assist the Wildlife Wellness & Research Officer with the following:
* Live or pre-recorded behavioral observations of assigned animal or animal group
* Participation in research design and coordination
* Data analysis of observations
* Weekly reporting of data to wellness staff
* Summarizing results and providing brief overviews of data
* Attendance and participation in staff meetings and lectures
* Photo cataloging existing projects and summaries
* Poster presentation to animal staff post project completion
