Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor vital signs of mother and baby following a birth, checking for signs of common postpartum complications
- Administer vaccinations and routine tests on newborn
- Clean, weigh, and dress newborns
- Educate new parents on how to care for their newborn, including functional breastfeeding schedules, before discharge
