The Trainer Associate will assign and monitor training completion for all OptumServe customers to ensure medical services are in compliance with current federal regulations and meet contract requirements. This includes initial training, ongoing compliance training, periodic retraining, and corrective action retraining. Trainer Associate will also provide administrative training to dental providers.

This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assign appropriate training codes to provider contacts and practitioners.
  • Assign and monitor completion of initial and compliance training in customer external platform and update in our internal system for tracking training compliance.
  • Complete and monitor training re-certification and compliance reports.
  • Monitor group event trainings for new Dental or Behavioral Health practitioners. Notify internal medical trainer and Dentist of newly assigned group event practitioners.
  • Determine the need for refresher training based on analysis of prior practitioner/provider trainings, recent appointment history and any noted issues and/or errors and escalate to Clinical Trainers.
  • Determine need for corrective training based on analysis of check-listing reports per contract supported by network provider as well as via issues identified by interdepartmental communications; route tasks to Clinical Trainer personnel for follow-up as appropriate.
  • Complete training reminders to medical and dental practitioners telephonically and/or electronically in regard to: examinee and provider responsibilities, electronic or paper document completion, service requirements and Provider Portal navigation..
  • Staff Clinical Education Support (CES) department phone queues for various contracts. Assist with all non-clinical questions, training completion and portal navigation. Escalate calls regarding clinical issues/concerns or complex issues to Clinical Trainers.
  • Provide assistance on retrieval of missing or incompletion components or documentation.
  • Monitor department training compliance reports and assign follow-up when appropriate.
  • Provide administrative support to the Clinical Education and Support leadership team.
  • Develop and maintain a general understanding of all OptumServe customers, clinical services, and contract requirements.
  • Complete system - related tasks and department projects as defined by the Clinical Education leadership team.
  • Assist Clinical Trainers in placing non - clinical and / or administrative calls to network providers to notify them of vital updates or changes.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in an office setting - customer service; administrative support; training support
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook email
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree (or higher) in business or medical field, training/education, or customer service capacity
  • NIOSH Spirometry Certification
  • Military experience
  • National Career Readiness Certificate
  • Knowledge/experience with adult learning principles
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Telecommuting Requirements:
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $21.68 - $38.56. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $23.94 - $42.40.
