POSITIONSUMMARY:

Duquesne University located in Pittsburgh, PA and an NCAA Division I member is accepting applications for the newly established full-time position of Head Women's Acrobatics & Tumbling Coach. The team will begin competition in the Fall 2024.

The candidate chosen for this position will be responsible for the organization, administration, and promotion of all aspects of the Division I Women's Acrobatics & Tumbling program.
As a condition ofemployment, Duquesne University requires all new employees -full-time andpart-time, including adjunct faculty-to get a COVID-19 vaccine and provideproof of their vaccination upon commencement of employment.

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:


Responsible for coaching, recruiting, conditioning, evaluation, and overall management for the women's acrobatics & tumbling team within the University mission, NCAA guidelines and NCATA policies.

Participates in continuing education opportunities from the NCATA, USA Gymnastics, and WeCoach to develop technical, recruiting, and administrative knowledge.

Responsible for working with the Sport Administrator and Assistant AD for Business to manage all budgets and financial matters for the program.
Ensures all expenditures are properly documented and in compliance with University and NCAA guidelines.

Establishes coaching strategies and teaching methods to develop student athletes' skills and teamwork.

Analyzes performance of team and adjust strategies as needed.

Develops policies and procedures for student athletes and coaches.

Compiles team match schedules.

Organizes all aspects of team travel and equipment needs as well as act as primary liaison with off-campus facilities for practices and matches.

Works closely with staffs of academic supports, sports medicine, and strength and conditioning to ensure positive student development.

Annual proficiency in NCAA Certification to Recruit.

Responsible for strictly adhering to all NCAA and University policies and procedures.

Completes other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

1-3 years of appropriate coaching experience in the sport of acrobatics & tumbling, gymnastics, or cheerleading.

Current certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid (we will recertify, if necessary).

Knowledge of and proficiency in NCAA and NACTA rules/regulations.

Valid driver's license with clean driving record (driving record will be reviewed by insurance).

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:

Excellent management and organizational abilities required.

Demonstratedsuccess in recruitment and retention of student-athletes.

Proficiency inMicrosoft Office products.

Travel and non-traditional hours

Ability andwillingness to drive van transport.
