Adelphi is seeking to recruit a Psychiatrist for a facility in Orange County, New York. The ideal Psychiatrist must have a minimum of two years of experience in delivering Adult Psychiatric Services to people with developmental disabilities. The Psychiatrist must have an active NY license and not be on any state or federal list of individuals prohibited from submitting a Medicaid Claim. EHR proficiency is recommended.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:
• Evaluate patients and advise psychiatric treatment
• Provide clear and concise psychiatric assessments based on observations and interactions and written reports
• Participate in the development of treatment plans and case management
• Must provide electronic prescriptions for psychotropic drugs for patients when requested
• Mediate admissions of Individuals and review prospective patient transfer
• Provide in-service programs to increase the knowledge of staff
• Provide crisis intervention and prescribe a pharmaceutical intervention
• Provide annual summaries for the Individuals who serve
• Assist in writing and filing formulary determinations, prior authorizations, coverage authorizations and
• For billing purposes, the provider should ensure time spent in sessions and off-session preparing notes, reports, and other efforts are to be documented and denoted separately in a Service Log
