Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Full Time Staff Nurse Mental Health for the New Jersey State Prison, located in Trenton, New Jersey.
The UCHC Staff Nurse Mental Health demonstrates competency in assessment and identification of the psychological and physical health of adults (18 to 64 years), and geriatrics (65+) all population groups and their personal strengths and also identifies inmate-centered goals and nursing objectives and implements prescribed interventions and solutions for the identified problems.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
* Collects and assesses continuous clinical data that is comprehensive, accurate and systematic as a basis for decisions regarding nursing practices.
* Actively participates in the inmate's multi-disciplinary planning sessions as measured by nursing statement, signature on the team treatment plan form, and supervisory review.
* Uses knowledge of behavioral concepts such as anxiety, loss, grief and anger to assist the inmate in coping, adapting and dealing constructively with feelings.
* Participates in in-service meetings and educational programs either as attendee or as a teacher, as arranged and approved by supervisor
