Prepares charges for equipment usage and treatment ensuring that all equipment parts and pieces are present. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the unit and ensures basic functioning of in-unit equipment. Stocks patient rooms accordingly. Works as part of the patient care team, the SST integrates services into the overall delivery of patient care on one or more units/floors.
Job Description
Job Duties:
Orders and stocks non-chargeable supplies on unit. Maintains inventory of in-unit equipment, cables, etc.
Maintains log of equipment service and location of equipment. Ensures timely return for in-unit equipment from Bio-med or other units. Follows up on equipment preventative maintenance and repair.
Assists VIP with equipment and interdepartmental transfers.
Assists in the retrieval and delivery of medications and pharmaceutical products that are dispensed from the Pharmacy to the appropriate patient care provider's.
Keeps unit (excluding patient rooms) neat and in order. Stocks bedside cabinets, treatment rooms, mini-stations, isolations carts, and linen areas.
Maintains standard room set-up and proper functioning of items in room. Cleans patient rooms as needed.
Reconciles patient information in Central Supply system (PYXIS).
Removes and/or replaces needle boxes in patient rooms.
Records all refrigerator temperatures and reports any malfunctions to Engineering.
Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
K.S.A.'s:
High School Degree or equivalent required.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to handle multiple requests and work in a stressful environment.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Education
High School Diploma/GED (Required)
