Our team is currently hiring for a Direct Support Professional/Direct Care Worker in the Springfield, MA area.
Schedule: per diem hours available, 2nd and 3rd shifts
Pay: Based on experience
Summary:
Provide behavioral, residential, and/or other support services to individuals with Developmental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities to assist in the health, safety and overall, well-being of each individual/client. Duties of the job include but are not limited to:
- Supporting individuals with activities of daily living (getting dressed, cooking, cleaning, bathing, toileting, laundry, etc.)
- All household chores
- Transporting individuals (as needed or required by specific facilities)
- Organizing activities
- Client checks and monitoring
- Medication administration (only if you have a current MED certification)
- Doctors’ appointments (as needed or required by specific facilities)
- Properly documenting per facility requirements
- Occasional lifting
- Teaching and engaging
- Implementing good routines
- Grocery shopping and running errands (as needed or required by specific facilities)
- Deescalating situations and managing behaviors
- Workings as part of a collective team with each facility working at
- Communicating professionally with Nurses, Clinical Staff, Directors, and Supervisors at each facility
- Communicating with Norton and reporting any issues, concerns, etc immediately
- Other duties as assigned or needed by the facility in which you are staffing at
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Experience working in the behavioral health field
- Experience working with individuals with development disabilities
- Current CPR/FA Certification - can send for training if needed
- CPI Certification (will train)
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Overnight shift
- Weekend availability
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- individuals with development disabilities: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Preferred)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
- CPI Certification (Preferred)
Work Location: One location
