Position Overview:
SmartyPants is looking for a motivated, dedicated, and detail-oriented individual for the Nutrition Science Analyst position at a leading CPG start-up brand in preventative health.
This is an excellent opportunity for a science-loving, self-motivated individual, who loves turning great ideas into real products. You will work closely with product research and development, helping us develop the best good-for-you supplements on the market.
What You'll Do:
+ Keep up to date on and interpret the latest and greatest scientific research as it applies to key strategic areas for the company and its products
+ Help compile research briefs and white papers
+ Help maintain research and ingredient databases
+ Collaborate with Regulatory team to assist with structure function claim substantiation
+ Act as a cross-functional liaison with various teams to collect and organize data relevant to new product pipeline and competitive insight
+ Create and update supplement fact panels
+ Help track department KPIs
+ Support other product development tasks as needed
What You Have:
+ Bachelor's degree (required) or Master's degree (preferred) in nutrition science or related science field
+ An interest in and familiarity with dietary supplements
+ Ability to read and interpret scientific literature
+ Clinical research or laboratory experience is a plus
+ Experience with supplement or nutrition fact label generation / analysis preferred
+ Excellent organizational skills
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all personality types
+ Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast paced environment with shifting priorities

+ The pay range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000. SmartyPants Vitamins takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. This position is bonus eligible. SmartyPans Vitamins employees are eligible to participate in our benefits plan. Should the employee choose to participate, they can choose from a range of benefits to include, but is not limited to, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, sick leave, paid vacation and holidays. Any coverages for health insurance will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and associated governing plan documents.

Our headquarters in Marina del Rey are a former architect's office, a two-story space where we work in an open environment with no elevator access to our 2nd floor offices. We have a communal garden, and we are dog-friendly, often with several pups in the office at any given time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the working environment is open and has no doors or cubicles.
