Echo echocardiogram echocardiography echocardiographer
  • Responsibilities* Under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Director and Cardiologist, assists in all hospital based invasive and non invasive cardiovascular studies including but not limited to physiologic hemodynamic monitoring during cardiac catheterization procedures, permanent pacemaker insertions and pericardiocentesis. The technician is responsible for all cine film processing or image archival and hemodynamic calculations and measurements. He or she performs echocardiograms, stress EKG's and pacemaker interrogations. The CP Specialist is responsible for maintaining records and reports. Provides 24-hour call coverage. Ability to: Work as a team member to meet team goals and objectives. Provide positive encouragement and support through interactions. Treat co-workers, patients, visitors and the public with respect and dignity. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff members. Use computers and computer based equipment. Respond in emergency situations. Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Qualifications*
  • Experience:*
  • Experience as a Cardiopulmonary Technologist performing hemodynamics in a cardiac catheter environment preferred.
  • Must be willing to work on call on a regular rotating basis.
  • Education:*
  • Graduate from a one year Ultrasound program specializing in cardiac echocardiography required.
  • Licensure:*
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer certification. (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) required within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Special Skills:*
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and assisting in lifting and positioning of patients, good manual and finger dexterity and good hand and eye coordination.
  • Requires walking, bending and occasional standing for extensive periods of time.
  • Requires some lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing, working in stressful or emergency situations and some exposure to communicable diseases.
