THE ROLE: The Commercial Truck Driver operates a Class A or B Truck as well as powered pallet jacks and forklifts to transfer food manufacturing products between warehouse buildings in the same business campus. This position also assists with all other warehouse activities that may include receiving, inventory transfer, and production line.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  • This is a dynamic position within a strong team environment that provides an opportunity for a CTD to work closer to home in a food manufacturing campus with a steady schedule and low mileage.
  • This individual will work closely with their warehouse staff in two buildings as well as manufacturing and packaging production individuals for a three shift 24-hour manufacturing operation.
  • The CTD is a conduit for the daily move of raw materials from the raw material building to the finished goods blending and packaging building ¼ of a mile apart. This is permits a CTD to expand their skill set into warehouse technologies and manufacturing in a changing logistics environment.

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM:

The warehouse department is responsible for all material receipts for the manufacture and packaging of protein powder meals, liquid aloe product, the transfer of all raw materials and packaging components between buildings, the transfer of finished product to Herbalife distribution centers via third party carriers and the final sale of the finished goods to Herbalife distribution centers. The warehouse department interfaces with all other departments including Planning, Purchasing, Quality control, Production, Quality assurance, transportation and distribution in a high performing facility that functions as one team producing remarkable results within a modest footprint.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Operate and maintain a class B or A box truck of 55,000 Gross vehicle weight (GVW) and Class C with a 30-foot box between company campus warehouses.
  • Comply with all federal DOT and California regulations including but not limited to CFR title 49 and CVC, Section 34520.
  • Air Brakes certification
  • Excellent maneuvering Skills & Controls with the ability to operate in tight spaces.
  • Perform Pre-Trip safety inspections Inspection
  • Participate in controlled substances and alcohol testing (CSAT) program and medical certification requirements
  • Train to operate and maintain forklift certifications for stand-up reach forklifts, sit down counterbalance forklifts and powered pallet jacks to safely move materials between warehouse locations, floor, and racks and onto and off trucks.
  • Assist warehouse management in the maintenance and schedule of material transfers between warehouses and inventory locations.
  • Maintain and stock the production inventory Kanban locations to provide uninterrupted production supply.

Skills:

  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
  • Ability to carry out responsibilities under general supervision
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity
  • Ability to respond effectively and positively in a rapidly changing warehouse environment
  • Detail oriented, basic math skills

Experience:

  • Current class B CTD license
  • Maintain a clean DMV record
  • 1 year of class B trucking experience

Education:

  • HS diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Class A CTD License
  • 2-3 years of experience in general warehousing and truck transportation
  • 1 year of forklift operator and general warehousing experience
  • Working knowledge of warehousing operations as it relates to the specific functions of product movement, inventory systems, and forklift operations
  • Experienced in the use of radio frequency bar code scanners
