Position Summary

The Assistant Operations Manager supports and assists the Operations Manager with the day to day functions and tasks of our Greensboro, NC warehouse operations. This includes planning, performance and process improvements. 


Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supports and maintains the daily operation and functionality of the Greensboro, NC Operations Department

  • Occasionally supervises and manages time of temp labor employees

  • Ensures daily warehouse work is completed in a timely fashion

  • Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all warehouse employees, guests and visitors.

  • Supports and follows all quality control policies and standard work procedures

  • Communicates any and all warehouse issues to the Operations Manager

  • Partner with the other employees to share best practices across the organization

  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to determine the highest priority tasks

  • Lift and move material up to 50 pounds

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Communication: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, as well as the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of our organization.

  • Problem Solving: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Technical Skills: Some knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software, internet software preferred

  • Forklift Experience: Able to drive and operate a forklift vehicle effectively and safely.

Educational Background and Experience

High School Diploma or GED required. BA or BS in Business or related field preferred.

At least three (3) years of warehouse experience required. At least two (2) years of forklift operation experience required. Forklift certification preferred. Supervisory or leadership experience is also preferred.
