Job Description Summary

Tenant Inc is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to help us further grow our customer base. Candidates for this role will be expected to identify and overcome a variety of new hurdles daily. When connecting with storage facility operators, you will shift seamlessly between identifying where we can deliver additional value to potential new clients and to our existing client base.


By understanding and identifying what problems they are facing in their day-to-day operations; you will be able to empower our prospective clients with information to help them understand how our technologies can help solve their problems and grow their profits.


Location: Newport Beach, CA Hybrid Remote/In Office


Responsibilities:

  • Regularly interact with storage facility operators, using Hubspot for team tracking and working purposes. Some of these metrics include (but are not limited to) phone calls, video demos, leads, emails and pipeline management.
  • Constantly test new and innovative approaches to sales and lead generation. These may include attending industry trade shows, traveling to clients' offices, working from lists of new facilities currently under construction, cold calling, and more. You have to be open to testing new strategies and then executing and operationalizing the ones that are successful.
  • Demonstrate the ability to both hand off larger opportunities as well as generate cross-sell opportunities for our senior sales reps.
  • Work multiple outbound/outreach call campaigns from our marketing team.
  • Cold-call into regional areas to find net-new opportunities with storage owners.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain a fun and congenial work environment with your team.
  • Design, refine, and document various value propositions from scratch to understand how to best route different customers to multiple products.
  • More specifically, you will be responsible for:
  • 40+ outbound calls/emails a day.
  • Generate 4 outbound SQLs per day.
  • Pipeline management and follow-ups with potential clients.
  • Hitting monthly and quarterly revenue/account quotas.
  • Taking detailed notes on all customer interactions and logging via Hubspot CRM.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years in business inside/outside sales, ideally in a fast-growing environment. (Or comparable work experience.)
  • Working knowledge of Hubspot (or comparable CRM), Zoom (or comparable video conferencing applications) Google Apps, and Microsoft Office.
  • A hunger not just to get results right the first time, but also to improve them for the future.
  • Exceptional communication skills (phone, email, video conference and face-to-face).
  • Time-management skills and motivation to constantly push yourself to do better in an unstructured environment. You re comfortable navigating ambiguity, trust yourself to make the right call in the moment, and can calmly develop best practices as you go.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills, with the ability and foresight to consolidate and simplify your daily tasks in order to scale systems and processes across larger teams.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with the self-storage or SAAS-related industry.
  • Experience with PMS (Property Management Systems)software is a plus.

Education:

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject. Candidates with equivalent education plus relevant work experience may also be considered.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, and technical standards.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Google Drive for Business
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint,etc.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
  • Experience with HubSpot or other relevant CRM system
  • Experience with Linkedin Prospecting
  • Slack and Monday's experience preferred
