Panum Group, LLC. is seeking a self-motivated, talented, and detail-oriented Nutrition Technologist to work on several nutrition and/or information technology-related projects for the USDA. Registered Dietician or related certification. Federal Government Experience.
This position requires strong experience in Child Nutrition and School Nutrition (K-12) Programs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop electronic newsletters and promotions for dissemination in GovDelivery
- Develop nutrition content for Twitter
- Administer webinars (create registrations, upload slides, provide technical assistance, verify and maintain records of attendance, correspond with webinar attendees regarding participation certificates) using ReadyTalk and WebEx platforms
- Communicate nutrition information to customers orally and in writing
- Respond to customer nutrition-related inquires using email or telephone within 2 business days of receipt
- Develop nutrition education and training materials pertaining to the Child Nutrition Programs
- Review language resources for accuracy, consistency with the Team Nutrition glossary, readability, and to assess cultural appropriateness
- Develop PowerPoint presentations on nutrition-related topics
- Knowledge of and experience with the following:
- o Dietetics; Nutrition Guidelines
- o 508 compliances
- o Proficient nutrition writing and communication skills
- o Writing for audiences with varying literacy skills.
- o Understanding of Child Nutrition Programs meal patterns
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in nutrition field required
- Master s Degree and Registered Dietitian certification preferred
- Minimum of 6 years experience in conducting aspects of nutrition training and education in a child nutrition setting; school (grades k-12) nutrition experience preferred
- Proficient nutrition writing and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in providing customer correspondence.
- Experience developing content for Twitter and tracking associated metrics
- Experience developing electronic newsletters
- Experience using of webinar platforms and administering/conducting webinars
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Demonstrated knowledge of plain language principles for nutrition.
- Demonstrated understanding of needs of low-income audiences and Child Nutrition Program operators.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of:
- o The National School Lunch and Breakfast Program
- o Communicating orally and in writing in English
- o Nutrition communications for K-12 schools
- o Web communications, Twitter
- o Webinar platforms
- o Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- o Demonstrated knowledge of plain language principles for nutrition; understanding of low income audiences, and School Nutrition Professionals
- Experience using GovDelivery, ReadyTalk, WebEx, Hootsuite, Twitter Analytics, the Government Printing Office Style Manual, and Adobe Creative Suite (including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator).
