Production Manager

UDC produces small and medium caliber ammunition. Currently we are looking for a Production Manager.

What you'll Bring

Minimum 8+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 2 years’ experience with direct supervision of employees.
Experience with (or at least familiarity with) manufacturing for government contracts.
Strong background in the development and execution of lean manufacturing principles that result in improvement to process and cost.
Experience and thorough knowledge of production systems and processes.
Proven trajectory of production team leadership, leading leaders, and building teams with critical thinking.
Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
Experience in hiring and developing new team members in a production environment.
High-level leadership and decision-making skills

What to Expect

The Production Manager will be responsible for meeting production forecasts and driving continuous improvement through the manufacturing process. They will provide hands-on support and direction to the operations team. This role will ensure quality and safety of the operation while driving continuous improvement of manufacturing. What You’ll Do

Manage Process

You will direct all aspects of production at one of our facilities with oversight of our second facility just 30 minutes away. You will be responsible for production at both facilities, including:

Daily production planning
Delivery to plan
Safety
Working with our safety manager, drive safety and environmental compliance. Quality targets
Working with our Quality team, drive high quality standards in everything we do, such as process control systems, monitoring and managing key product metrics, and consistency in documentation.
Production staffing
Lean implementation
Be the lean champion: initiating and driving to completion, lean manufacturing principles.
Develop and deliver continuous improvement initiatives in safety, environmental, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity.
Maintain high product quality, safety and yield, use of resources and adherence to best safety practices. Support upgrades, new products, and material introductions by supporting design teams, creating process plans, tracking project schedules, and developing countermeasures for timely completion of project goals. Provide feedback to management on issues, benchmark other organizations for best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,720.00 - $93,600.00 per year
