Job Description

Director/Sr. Director Clinical Partner Management - HYBRID Role

As the Director/Sr. Director Clinical Partner Management, you will lead overall relationship management for one or more R&D strategic vendor partners/categories responsible for development functions. You will drive partnership governance and manage the complexity between Takeda and strategic vendor partner (s)

Coach and mentor R&D business partners leading partnerships to ensure consistent application of partnership best practices. You will Identify, assess and implement opportunities to continuously improve Takeda's ability to effectively work externally and be a partner of Choice and lead partner relationship to enable predictable delivery of portfolio, through cross functional collaboration and utilization of metrics to in-form our actions.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Knowledgeable about partner services to ensure alignment with Takeda's current and future needs, including identifying opportunities for innovation
  • Create cross-enterprise view of capability gaps, engage with Takeda and the strategic vendor partner (s) to prioritize gaps and capability management
  • Lead cross functional initiatives to improve supplier governance model across multiple partners/categories
  • Liaise and guide functional alliance leads to ensure consistency, transparency and strategic alignment for each specific supplier
  • Identify opportunities to leverage additional vendor capabilities that may be of value to Takeda
  • Act as a role model and coach for the development functions involved in day-to-day management of the partnership, driving a partnership mindset and culture
  • Matrix leadership of cross operational committees to enhance value capture
  • Gain insight, pro-actively monitor, and take actions with business based on partnership portfolio health analyses and partnership Balanced Scorecard
  • Drive joint governance between Takeda and the global strategic vendor partner (s)
  • Direct the overall governance framework and relationship with Takeda's full service R&D global operations partners to drive performance and optimization of study delivery
  • Provide direction to optimize the success, value and efficiency of R&D global operations partners
  • Ensure goals and objectives are set, measured, and reported
  • Effectively manage open and/or escalated issues to timely and effective resolution
  • Leverage best practices across the partnership
  • Effectively facilitate complex bi-directional communication to inform decision/risks and disseminate governance decisions to R&D stakeholders including strategic vendor partners
  • Provide direct, constructive, and timely feedback to the global strategic vendor partner (s) to effectively resolve issues and improve performance
  • Effectively represent and advocate for Takeda teams and partner (s)
  • In partnership with TAUs, DDUs, and R&D functions, procurement, and teams, identify and implement actions to improve efficiency of Takeda-vendor interface to reduce redundant activities, synthesize and implement innovation ideas to ensure effective delivery
  • Drive change management processes within Takeda related to the strategic vendor (s) relationship management
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable internal policies and procedures, regulations; support inspection readiness of all regulated activities
  • Lead to create a culture and values that attract, retains, and develops the most effective people

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • BS/BA required; advanced technical degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of applicable drug development operations experience, global experience preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of line management or cross-functional leadership experience
  • Experienced and knowledgeable about all key clinical operational functions (eg project management, clinical monitoring, data management process, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of drug development process and requirements of clinical research organization
  • Relevant knowledge and experience in R&D to enable meaningful dialogue within Takeda and with partners
  • Proven experience in Alliance/Partnership excellence: deep understanding/experience of building, maintaining, and closing partnerships including tools/methods
  • Leadership: Experience in leading direct reports and matrix organizations with solid successful experience in influencing across organizations including change management experience

Base Salary Range: $250-300K, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well.
