The Opportunity:
The Senior Tax Analyst is an integral part of the tax department that is responsible for the preparation of sales tax returns utilizing Thomson OneSource Sales Tax Returns.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
- Prepare US State and Local Sales Tax Returns utilizing Thomson OneSource Returns;
- Assist in management of sales tax exemption certificates in One Source and our internal billing system;
- Assist in the research and management of the tax-ability of products and services related to the hazardous waste industry, oil recycling, oil blending industry, and other Clean Harbors industries maintained in Thomson OneSource ;
- Help in the management of tax audits in order to minimize potential audit exposure;
- Keep the Vice President of Tax informed of key issues and happenings; Keep current on general tax knowledge;
- Prepare sales and use tax accrual reconciliation for Management and Other Stakeholders;
- Lead efforts to automate sales and use taxes monthly by providing technical expertise in OneSource Returns;
- Recommend ways to improve the sales and use tax compliance at Clean Harbors;
- Support Vice-President of Tax with acquisitions and other corporate reorganizations;
- Knowledge of General Accounting and Reconciliation Processes;
- Assist with complicated Business License Fees;
What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?
- BS/BA in Accounting or related field required
- MS/MA preferred
- 5+ years with Sales and Use Taxes
- Working for a publicly traded company would be helpful
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and remain organized
- Must possess strong analytical skill and aptitude
- Accounting for Sales and Use Tax knowledge
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of Peoplesoft preferred
- Knowledge of Sabrix preferred
