  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, preferably a master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
  • Experience in governmental accounting, preferably in a higher education setting
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible related experience in financial management
  • Working knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Ability to plan and organize, communicate effectively, and utilize computer-based word processing, spreadsheet applications, and database software programs.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
This position is accountable for the timely preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports, and collection of necessary budget data for preparation and maintenance of the college budget.BUDGET ACCOUNTING:
  • Responsible for direct communication with each budget unit head, as well as the Executive Director of Business Operations (EDBO), Executive Vice Chancellor, and Chancellor, to assist in the development and monitoring of the College’s operating budget.
  • Responsible for analyzing each restricted fund, restricted fee, and grant to ensure that revenues are properly tracked and spent in accordance with their respective restrictions.
  • Responsible for providing each budget unit head with monthly budget-to-actual revenue/expense reports, and/or training them to obtain this information from the Banner System themselves on an annual basis.
  • Responsible for working with the EDBO on revenue/expense and cash inflow/outflow projections to ensure the College’s sound fiscal status.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the Annual Operating Budget and timely submission to the LCTCS.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the Quarterly Financial Reports and timely submission to the LCTCS.
  • Responsible for submission of the Workforce Development Budget to the LCTCS annually.
  • Responsible for closely monitoring the Operating Budget to ensure non-deficits in the departmental budgets as well as the College as a whole.
REPORTING ACCOUNTING:
  • Responsible for preparation/accuracy/timely submission of the Special Meals Report to the Commissioner of Administration quarterly.
  • Responsible for assisting the EDBO in preparation of the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) REPORT
  • Responsible for preparation and submission of numerous other financial reports to various entities.
  • Review Expanded Needs Report annually
  • Prepare Cash Management Review Board Report quarterly
  • Update MRA Binder annually
  • Prepare Monthly Financial Report in Quarterly Format
OTHER ACCOUNTING:
  • Responsible for the management and reconciliation of capital outlay expenditures on a quarterly basis with the assistance of the Purchasing Department.
  • Responsible for the financial management of the College’s capital assets inventory, to include reconciliation of additions and deletions in the Protégé System to the Banner Financial System.
  • Responsible for management of the records retention process of the College by ensuring all departments are compliant with State Archives regulations and that they remain current.
  • Responsible for assisting with the Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan for the College.
  • Provide explanations for Monthly Comparative Analysis
  • Other duties as assigned by the EDBO, Executive Vice Chancellor, or Chancellor
