General Job Description
Coordinates a classroom for a group of active three's. Group size will be determined by Health Department. Performs a variety of activities using the Creative Curriculum and Conscious Discipline that ensures age appropriate learning. Maintains the health and safety of this group. Reports to either Assistant Director, Curriculum Specialist or Director.
Specific Duties of the Job:
- Enthusiastically greets and engages parents at drop-off and pick up times
- Maintains a positive relationship with the parents
- Completes Daily Take Home Sheets
- Arranges classroom to facilitate the age group
- Plans and executes the daily activities from Creative Curriculum, Conscious Discipline plus gross motor activities
- Talks to the children throughout the day
- Conducts guided classroom observations of things that need fixing or thrown away.
- Cleans and organizes classroom every day.
- Instills a love of learning in every child..
- Speaks with either Assistant Director or Director on a weekly basis about the progress or help needed in the classroom.
- Follows center’s policies and procedure.
- Works cooperatively with the other staff members in the classroom and in the school.
- Cares for the hygiene of students, takes them to bathroom every 2 hours
- Follows curriculum daily. Hands in lesson plans by Thursday of the previous week
- Writes incident reports when necessary
- Yearly self-evaluation and Administration evaluation.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of growth process of three year olds
- DCF 45 hours classes and tests
- Prefer a FCCPC or a Staff Credential
- Knowledge of activities that stimulate three year olds
- Knowledge of safety issues surrounding three year olds
- Skills in patience, relaying positive reinforcement, positive communication, time management
- Ability to organize environment, plan and prioritize work, move and react quickly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Work Location: One location
